Aqeel Dix, Ph.D., has become a viral sensation on social media after videos of him holding a student's baby while teaching his class at Lincoln University circulated online. The remarkable moment of teacher-student bonding earned the professor praise from all corners of the internet. As it turns out, Dr. Dix is no stranger to going above and beyond what is expected of him as an educator.

The Video

The touching video was taken during Dr. Dix’s health sciences class at Lincoln University. During the lesson, one of his students brought her three-month-old daughter to class as she had no other childcare options that day. Despite it not being common practice for teachers to allow infants into their classrooms, Professor Dix made an exception.

He has shown immense understanding and compassion for his student’s difficult situation by carrying her daughter for most of the two-hour class period so that she could focus her attention on learning the material.

Dr. Aqeel Dix has been an educator at Lincoln University since 2006, and prior to this recent incident, he was already well known among students for his capacity to truly care about their academic success - even if that means going above and beyond what is typically expected from educators within higher education settings today.

He has previously given students extension deadlines when they have encountered extenuating circumstances outside their control. He is also known to stay late after classes to provide extra assistance for struggling pupils without hesitation or complaint, always making himself available for extended office hours whenever possible in order to ensure every student receives the support they need during their university career journey with him as their mentor along the way.
